The Central Jutland-based transport company, which is one of Northern Europe's leading providers of tank logistics, will change its name to Dantra A/S on December 1. This is due to strong growth in foreign activities.
Dansk Tanktransport has grown over the years to become one of Northern Europe's largest players in its field. In recent years, foreign activities in particular have been growing, and according to haulier Helge Jensen, this has necessitated a name that is easy to spell and pronounce throughout Europe.
A few years ago, we established a subsidiary in the Baltic States, while some of our employees in Denmark are now also foreign. We are becoming more and more international and the increased focus on foreign customers has led to the decision to change to a more international sounding name.

As of December 1, the company will be called Dantra A/S, which is a contraction of the words in the current name. Dantra has already been used for a number of years as a nickname on the back of vehicles, in its web address and for promotion in neighboring countries.

At European level, the company is particularly well known in the chemical and food sectors, and the name change will further boost its efforts in export markets. The language of letterheads and envelopes today is exclusively in English, and according to Helge Jensen, there is now an increased focus on developing foreign relations.
Our experience, know-how and more than 100 custom-built tankers mean we can handle many special tasks. The market share in Denmark is increasing, and we have 35 tankers operating nationally; but we also have a clear expectation that activities abroad will grow significantly in the future.

The company is certified to ISO 9001 and 14001, as well as SQAS and TIV standards. It is also approved for the carriage of liquid chemicals, petrol and oil, heavy fuel, biofuels, marine and ship bunkering and other technical products. In the food sector, HACCP principles are applied and the company has extensive experience in the transportation of liquid foodstuffs. Deliveries to feed mills require the specific GMP+ certification, which has been in place since 2006.
The haulier believes that success in export markets is not only a matter of delivering high quality at competitive prices. - In the industries in which we operate, safety and the environment are of paramount importance. This applies to the cargo itself, where a high degree of traceability, monitoring and documentation is required, and it applies to avoiding accidents and unnecessary environmental impact," explains Helge Jensen. As an example, he cites the company's so-called Masterdriver concept, which aims to promote road safety and environmentally friendly driving. - Foreign transport buyers are also increasingly prioritizing sustainability and hedging against all possible risks. In this context, it is vital that we have invested heavily in quality management, training and all relevant accreditations," he concludes.
Dansk Tanktransport has existed since 1920 and employs at group level approx. 150 employees at home and abroad. The group is headquartered in Hjøllund in central Jutland and has more than 100 road tankers at its disposal.
