Emergency response exercise

This was the message to the Emergency Response Center on a very cold Monday morning in late November when we held a large emergency response exercise.

The exercise was carried out in collaboration with the emergency response company Lotek, with whom we have also collaborated on our emergency response plan.

The importance of such exercises was underlined, because although the report was of a fire, the situation was actually much worse, because the exercise was that there had been a chlorine spill, which is very dangerous and difficult to control.

The evacuation of the 38 employees + foreign craftsmen went well. And most importantly, it gave food for thought, was there anything that could be done better.... Yes, communication between the departments and the emergency services could be a little better and faster.

At Dansk Tanktransport A/S, we have a strong focus on our emergency preparedness and first aid, which all staff are continuously trained in, and therefore we run several smaller emergency exercises and 1stor every year.

Dansk Tanktransport A/S is investigating the possibilities of setting up an internal Samaritan corps and having a defibrillator installed.
